A High effiency boiler or condensing boiler passes the flue gas through a secondary heat exchanger recovering even more latent heat energy from the combustion process

Typical effiencies from a condensing boiler range from 90 - 97%

For a typical home with a home heating oil bill of €2000

Upgrading to a High Effiency boiler would give an increase of around 20% in effiency and thus savings of €400

Adding the availible grant the cost of upgrading to a new condensing boiler would be offset in just 3 years
